Gwylanfa

Gwylanfa is a spacious welcoming place to stay with a warm family home feel. All the bedrooms have sea views with quality bedding and ensuite bathrooms with fluffy towels.

There are two lounges’ both with uninterrupted views over Rest Bay and the Welsh coastline. The upstairs lounge leads onto the balcony where you can enjoy the sea views and is also the perfect place to watch the sunsets in the evenings. The downstairs lounge also enjoys sea views of Rest Bay and there are two cosy sofas where you can curl up and watch TV and DVDs.

There is a separate dining room which also has sea views and leads onto the patio (steps to garden) and into the kitchen and utility room which is well equipped with everything you will need for a comfortable and stress-free stay – it even has buckets and spades (and an outside bowl to wash your sandy feet)

There is even a separate shower room downstairs where you can wash off after a hard day at the beach.

There is a very large lawned garden to the front of the house and patio to the side where you can sit back and relax (please note that there are steps down to the garden). You don’t need to worry about parking as there is free off-road parking on the drive for at least 3 cars.

Your stay includes gas and electric, WiFi, towels, bedding, as well as the cleaning is included in the cost of your stay.

Whether you want a relaxing holiday in a seaside town, or you want to explore the best South Wales has to offer, Gwylanfa is the ideal property for you. For lazy, sandy Summer days, brisk Winter walks watching the crashing waves, or as a sightseeing base, it is the perfect holiday location all year round. The cities of Cardiff and Swansea are about a 30-minute drive away, depending on traffic, and McArthur Glen Designer Outlet is the next junction on the motorway! If it’s the golf courses that are attracting you to the area, you won’t be disappointed with the Royal Porthcawl on your doorstep and also Pyle & Kenfig and The Grove located in Porthcawl and don’t forget Southerndown Golf course which is a short drive away.

Rest Bay Café is almost next door with a ground level kiosk for take away options or you can sit upstairs where they cater for all needs - you can enjoy breakfast, lunch, or dinner - if you didn’t fancy cooking.

This is the perfect base for adventure seekers eager to sample South Wales’ outdoor activity – surfing, paddle boarding, kite surfing, rock pooling, golf, cycling, fishing, horse riding, clay pigeon shooting, quad biking, paintballing, high ropes climbing, walking or simply relaxing on the balcony or in the garden reading a book or enjoying a glass of wine.

There is also the Elvis Festival (usually the last weekend of September) where visitors from all over the world come to Porthcawl for the Elvis convention. Be prepared for lots of people wandering around in full Elvis get-up and shops playing Love Me Tender, Hound Dog and more of his rock ’n’ roll greats – it’s a great fun weekend.
