Tŷ Newton Nottage, Porthcawl

Tŷ Newton Nottage is located between the villages of Newton and Nottage in Porthcawl. The house overlooks the countryside with hillside views to the front and you might even see some donkeys in the surrounding fields. It’s the perfect base for exploring the local areas, adventure seekers eager to sample South Wales’ outdoor activity (such as surfing, paddle boarding from Rest Bay water sports centre) - it's about a 20 minute walk to the beach or about a 5 minute drive in the car, the Elvis Festival where visitors from all over the world come to Porthcawl, and the Fairground at Coney Beach.

This spacious welcoming house has large comfy sofas that you can curl up and watch TV in the front room with wooden flooring, and a large bay window. The dining room has a large decorative wooden dining table and chairs – plenty of room to accommodate 6 guests around the table.

The kitchen is well equipped with everything you will need for a comfortable and stress-free stay and leads to the back garden. There is an outside WC and laundry outhouse, where you can put your wetsuits and outdoor equipment. Relax in the mature garden on the comfy garden furniture where you can enjoy a glass of wine or a cup of tea after a hard day of exploring or just unwinding on your holiday.

There are three spacious bedrooms, two of which have double beds and one bedroom with bunk beds, and all offer fresh linen and towels. There is a separate WC to the family bathroom with a clean and modern feel.

The house is tastefully decorated throughout, and it even supports a good cause with luxury liquid hand wash from Myddfai which is a social enterprise company and provides opportunities for vulnerable adults.

There is side road parking to the house and side gate access into the back garden.

Gas and electric, WiFi, towels and bedding, as well as the cleaning, is included in the cost of your stay.

Whether you want a family holiday in a seaside town with an extensive promenade and several beaches (two of which are Blue Flag beaches, Rest Bay and Sandy Bay) or you want to explore the best South Wales has to offer, Tŷ Newton Nottage is the ideal place for you. If you are after natural beauty then the Glamorgan Heritage Coast stretches for 14 miles, from Aberthaw to Porthcawl with plunging cliffs, secluded coves and breathtaking views it is a must for walkers, cyclists or anyone with a love of the countryside.

There is also easy access to the Gower Peninsular, an area of outstanding natural beauty with cliffs and woodlands ringed by sparkling beaches, it’s so adored by walkers, birdwatchers, sunbathers and surfers.

If you are looking for something a little bit more unusual, there is the Elvis Festival (usually the last weekend of September) where visitors from all over the world come to Porthcawl for the Elvis convention. Be prepared for lots of people wandering around in full Elvis get-up and shops playing Love Me Tender, Hound Dog and more of his rock ’n’ roll greats – it’s a great fun weekend.
